Contracted Development Technology and Production System
Support for Development of Precision Forgings
NICHIDAI provides contract development of a wide range of precision-forged
products, leveraging our net-shape technology cultivated through precision
forging die manufacturing, along with our diverse in-house prototyping and
production equipment.
Based on product geometry, material properties, and required precision, we
evaluate forming processes, die structures, and forging conditions, and
provide integrated in-house support from die design and manufacturing to
forging trials, measurement, and evaluation.
From validating new materials and processes to producing prototypes and
developing processes with mass production in mind, we support forging product
development according to our customers’ objectives and contribute to enhancing
their manufacturing competitiveness.
Technical Support Tailored to Development Goals from the Concept Stage
Three Strengths Supporting Contract Development
Based on its extensive achievements and knowhow, NICHIDAI considers forming processes according to product shapes or material properties. NICHIDAI proposes processes leading to stable production.
From die design and manufacturing to forging trials, measurement, and evaluation, we handle every process in-house. By leveraging insights gained at each stage, we also develop concrete production processes for a smooth transition to mass production.
Using high-performance presses and specialized equipment, we conduct prototype trials and evaluations under a wide range of forging conditions, identifying potential challenges for mass production at an early stage.
Contracted development steps
-
Integrated In-House Support
From initial consultation through design, die manufacturing, and forging prototyping, we provide integrated support entirely in-house.
-
Rapid Prototyping
We have established a system that enables us to complete projects from initial consultation to forging prototyping in approximately two to four months.
-
Efficient Development Process
We streamline design, die manufacturing, and forging prototyping to shorten development lead times.
-
Support Through Mass Production
We support a smooth transition from prototyping to mass production.
Introduction to NFD-1000 (press machine for research and development)
Using its press machine for research and development “NFD-1000,” NICHIDAI works on technically challenging development projects such as specially shaped parts, highly difficult manufacturing methods, and forming of difficult-to-machine materials.
NFD
NFD stands for NICHIDAI, Forging/Future, and Dream, implying that NICHIDAI’s forging technology supports the future.
Features
- High-precision: Precision of position and load improved by the pump directly connected to the servomotor. Treatment of unbalanced load using trichotomy independent slide.
- Flexibility: System addressing a wide range of pressure controls, position controls, and forming speeds. Support for the development of innovative forging methods.
- Streamlining: Realization of more efficient prototyping with three processes. Support for the launch of mass production by data collection in the development stage.
